Jacquith, Lead Roaster

I was born and raised here in Bar Harbor. I was always fascinated by coffee, wandering through the Alternative looking at all the jars and giant tubes of all the glistening beans. Later I would enter the world of coffee as a barista. I hit the ground running, learning every thing I could about these magical beans. While other baristas were learning how to pour swans and rosettes, I was tasting every coffee I could get my hands on, mapping out the nuances of varietals from all over the world. This journey would take me from the sleepy fishing village I grew up in, to the bustling metropolises of Boston, Brooklyn, and Manhattan. Along this adventure I had the opportunity to work with many of the big names in the roasting world, share ideas and a cup (or three) of coffee with the people shaping the future of coffee roasting. Through these conversations I developed and honed my passion for the bean. When the opportunity arose for me to return to the island and roast coffee, I jumped. I traded the busy streets of Manhattan, for the quiet solitude of the roastery. I pour my heart and soul into every batch I roast, tasting each step of the way to ensure you are getting the best cup of coffee possible from coffees from around the world. I strive to create coffees that both reflect the beauty of the origin, but also the majesty of this island we call home. I am always on the hunt for new and exciting coffees to bring you, while also developing a collection of core blends to take the mystery out of picking a coffee in the morning.
